Want to heal cold sores quick and easily?  Well, there are many ways for you to attempt it, but only a handful of them will truly work and work well.  Unfortunately the only way to find those solutions that work well is through trial and error as there are just so many solutions to sift through and they work to varying degrees for each and every person.  So with that in mind, here is a list of solutions for you to get started on:

1.     Vinegar + Asprin

One way to heal cold sores is with the vinegar and asprin combination.  One component will help to alleviate the pain, while the other will kill off the virus and help dry out the sore.  Combined, these two work quite effectively, all you have to do is grind up the asprin and mix it with the vinegar until it forms a paste, then, simply apply that to the sore.
Want to make this even more effective?

Try adding Preparation H!  This will add to the effectiveness of this solution by reducing the swelling.

2.     A Gold Ring?

Here’s a curious solution.  If you happen to have a gold ring, try rubbing it on your sore for a few minutes every hour of the day.  Some people have reported that by keeping this up, they were able to shrink their sore and have it heal faster than usual.  It’s quite strange, but worth a shot if you’re desperate for a solution.

Now if you want to heal cold sores with a more proven solution, you’ll have to look into some cold sore meds.  One treatment that is quite popular is Herpeset, it is absorbed directly into the blood with a spray under the tongue and thus works quickly to get rid of the sore.  With a spray a day you can also keep the cold sore away :)  It does a good job of preventing further outbreaks.  Click here to learn more about Herpeset.

Want some remedies for fever blisters?  Those annoying little lesions that always seem to pop up after you pick up a cold are aptly named, but did you know that they are essentially the same thing as cold sores?  Yup, shocking, but they are the same thing, they are both caused by the herpes simplex 1 virus, fever blisters is just a nicer way of saying it.  So now that we got that understanding, what can we do to help get rid of the cold sores?  Plenty, here, try these solutions out:

1.     The Cookie Solution

Out of all the remedies for fever blisters, this is the only one that when done winds up smelling like a cookie.  What you’re going to do is boil some water and then add some garlic, olive oil, salt, apple cider vinegar, baking soda, lemon juice and some sugar.  The sugar is what gives it all the cookie smell.  Once this solution has been mixed up good, add some witch hazel to the mix as well.  Next, take a Q-Tip, dip it in and apply it directly to the fever blister.  By the way, this is not meant to be eaten :)

2.     Supplement With Calcium

Another solution  for fever blisters is to take in some additional calcium.  Just pick up some calcium supplmenets and take 500-1000mg of it daily.

3.     Ice The Area

Another very simple remedy is to use ice to arrest the swelling and spread of the virus.  Keep the ice on the lip long enough for it to go numb.  You can also try filling up a ziplock bag and putting that on.

Now these remedies for fever blisters will help, however they will not be enough to manage the sores quickly and keep them from returning.  For a more effective treatment, you’ll need to look at something like Herpeset.  That product works fast because it is absorbed directly into the bloodstream when sprayed under the tongue.  You can click here to learn more about how it works.

Want to find out how to get rid of cold sores fast?  Cold sores are not something you want to see stick around on your lip for a week or two, they are so embarrassing that each day you have one is just utter pain.  There are a lot of solutions out there to try, unfortunately not many do the job well.  I’ve got a killer solution right here though that is worth a shot and may just be what you were looking for:

Baking Soda + Lemons

One way how to get rid of cold sores fast is with a little baking soda and lemons.  What you’re going to do is:

  • Wash your hands
  • Cut a lemon in half and squish it so that some lemon juice comes to the top
  • Put some baking soda on the top of the lemon juice so it starts to bubble a bit
  • Place that bubbly lemon directly onto the cold sore

Now when you do this, it is going to burn, but grit it out as it is really going to do a number on the cold sore virus.  Leave it on for a good 10-15 seconds before taking it off and the next day it should be on it’s way to healing up.  If doing it once a day is not enough you can up it to twice a day, alternatively, you can just try holding the lemon onto your mouth for a longer period of time.

So if you wanted to know how to get rid of cold sores fast, there’s one of the faster home remedies available to you.  If however you want to take it a step further and cure it faster because you need to be at some social engagement, there are better options.  One is Herpeset, it’s absorbed directly into the bloodstream with a spray under the tongue so it starts working immediately.  It also prevents further outbreaks which is a plus.  To learn if it’s right for you, click here for more info.

Fever Blister Cure - 2 New Solutions To Try Out

August 1, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Cold Sores Treatment

Need a fever blister cure to get rid of those annoying sores?  A lot of people call them fever blisters because they tend to pop up right after you get a cold.  They in fact are cold sores though which are caused by the Herpes Simplex – 1 virus which is something over 85% of us have been infected with.  Most are shocked to hear of this, but it is a rather common condition, which is probably why some people would rather call them fever blisters than something more sinister sounding like herpes.

Now genital herpes is another story, however if you want to a working fever blister cure, try out the following solutions:

1.     Abreva + Lysol

Now most people know of the cold sore treatment called Abreva, it’s an over-the-counter solution which is found in most drug stores.  There is a way to make it work even better though and that is by combining it with Lysol.  Be careful with this treatment though as you don’t want to swallow any of the Lysol.

With this treatment what you do is spray the Lysol onto some toilet paper, then dab that onto your fever blister, then when that dries, you follow that up by putting on some Abreva to cover it up.  Keep this up for a few days and it should work to dry up the sore faster than usual.

2.     Iodized Salt

Another thing to try is mixing ¼ a teaspoon of iodized salt with a cup of warm water then applying some of that solution to the sore with a cotton ball.  Hold the ball on for 5-10 minutes and keep this up 2-3 times a day for 5-10 days.

Both of these solutions will help, however they are not a true fever blister cure.  In order to really get rid of the problem quick and keep it away, you’ll need a more potent solution.  Herpeset is a good one which when sprayed under the tongue is immediately absorbed into the bloodstream.  It gets to work faster than any other solution.  You can click here to find out more about it and if its right for you.
