Zovirax is a prescription treatment that also works by slowing the growth and replication of the herpes virus and allows the body a better chance at fighting off the infection.  Each dose of this drug should be taken with a full glass of water and pregnant women should stay clear of this treatment.

3.     Valtrex

Valtrex is one of the more popular solutions available and it too is a prescription treatment.  This is usually taken at a rate of 1000mg ever 12 hours for a week and a half.  The only thing with this treatment and Zovirax is they come with potential side effects and they’re quite expensive.
