Want a remedy for cold sores that’s going to get rid of those unsightly lesons?  Cold sores always seem to spring up when you least want them to and it’s hard to get them off your mind.  You just know when you’re walking around that people are noticing it and the best case scenario is that they think it’s just acne.  Well, to avoid all this embarrassment, it’s best to start treating it right away.  Here are some quick solutions you can consider using:

1.     Lanacane

This stuff is a great remedy for cold sores as it totally gets rid of the pain!  Just grab some from the local drug store and dab it onto the area and presto, no more pain.  Be careful not to ingest any of this by accident though!

2.     Toothpaste

Who knew that toothpaste could be effective?  It’s such a simple solution to implement, just dab some on at the end of the night and let it do it’s thing.  You can improve this solution further by mixing in some salt as well.

3.     A Secret 4-Part Concoction

Ok, here’s a pretty involved solution.  Clean the cold sore with some hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball to start.  Allow that to try, then put on some witch hazel as well.  Next apply some alpha-hydroxy cream or Retin-A to help dry out the sore.  Finish this all off with some Vaseline to keep the skin from cracking.

Any of these solutions will help things along, however if you want a remedy for cold sores that will work faster and also keep them from returning, you’re going to need to look into the more powerful medications.  One such product which does a great job is Herpeset.  It’s absorbed directly into the blood with a spray under your tongue so it gets to work fast.  If you keep the treatment up you can even prevent future outbreaks quite easily.  Click here to learn more about it and how it works.

Cold Sore Home Remedies

If you’re looking for some cold sore home remedies, I’ve got a bunch right here that are worth having a go at.  Cold sores are quite unsightly but if you have the right tools, you can get rid of them rather quickly and avoid a lot of unnecessary embarrassment.  So without further ado, here’s what you need to try out:

1.     Table Salt

The first of the cold sore home remedies involves simple table salt which is salt and calcium silicate.  What you want to do is wet your finger then dip it into the salt, with that you need to press that up against the affected area and hold it there for a minute or two.  After that, wipe the salt off with a napkin.  Keep this up for several days, just until it shrivels up.

2.     Hydrogen Peroxide

Ok this is somewhat of an aggressive tactic to use and it may not be for everyone but here goes.  What you want to do is start by icing the cold sore with a ziplock bag full of ice, keep it on until the general area becomes somewhat numbed by the cold.  After this, burn the tip of a needle with a lighter to sterilize it, then use it to “pop” the sore.  Once the sore is drained of fluid, take a cotton ball, apply some hydrogen peroxide to it and hold it up against the area.  Wash your hands after all this and apply the hydrogen peroxide again later if you feel it is necessary.

Now if you don’t want to go to such extremes with these cold sore home remedies, there are other solutions that are more effective and less likely to leave a scar.  One such solution is Herpeset.  It is a a spray used under the tongue which gets immediately absorbed into the bloodstream so it works faster than other methods.  It also does a good job of preventing further outbreaks.  Click here to learn more about it.

If you’re still looking for a cold sore home remedy I’ve got some more here for you to try out.  There are quite a few of them out there, some work, some don’t, the only way to find out is to try it.  So if you’re interested in experimenting, here’s a list of solutions for you to go over:

1.     Grapefruit Seed Extract

One cold sore home remedy involves taking some grapefruit seed extract, mixing that in with some olive oil to dilute it a bit, then applying that to the area where you have a cold sore or you feel one will develop.  Keep applying this 2-3 times a day and it will work to kill off the virus and either prevent the cold sore from forming or speed along the healing.

2.     Garlic Oil

Try squeezing a garlic and using the oil that seeps out to dab onto your cold sores.  The oil will have anti-viral properties that will work on clearing up the situation.

3.     Neosporin

Many people have noted that this antibiotic works to clear up a cold sore pretty quickly when applied to the face.

4.     Warm Baths

A warm bath or shower can be soothing and help alleviate some of the pain and discomfort caused by the cold sores.

5.     Stay Away From Peanuts

Peanuts and other nuts are loaded with L-Arginine.  This seems to help the virus replicate, so you want to limit how much of this you take in.

Now all these tips will help, but if you want a cold sore home remedy that’s going to not only get rid of it, but do it quick and prevent it from returning, you’ll need to look into other methods.  One of the more potent solutions available is called Herpeset, it’s effective because it is absorbed directly into the bloodstream by a spray under the tongue.  It gets to work faster than any other solution and it also keeps the outbreak from returning, I’d recommend trying it if you really want to get things under control.  Click here to learn more about it.

Looking for a cold sore remedy to get rid of the nasty blister or blisters that have suddenly decided to pop up on your lips?  Once you have these you’re contagious and you feel almost like a leper since you don’t want to kiss anyone while you’ve got it.  It’s also not a very nice look for you either.  So what can be done about it?  Well, there are a lot of solutions out there, some work well, some not so well, but here are a few for you to have a go at:

1.     Zinc Sulfate

Try picking up this cold sore remedy at your local pharmacy.  Zinc sulfate is responsible for the proper growth and development of your body’s tissues and will work to heal the sore faster if you supplement with it.  If you happen to be pregnant, it’s not recommended for you to try this solution out.

2.     Echinacea

This all natural herb has many uses, one of it’s main being to prevent the common cold.  But supplementing with this can also help to fight off the sore and speed along healing due to it’s anti-viral properties.

3.     Peppermint Oil

Peppermint oil has been found to be able to easily penetrate skin and have an anti-viral effect against the herpes virus.  The only issue with this is even in small amounts, this can be toxic.  It goes without saying that this should never be ingested.

Now if you want a cold sore remedy that works faster and better than these, you may need to look into a medication.  There is one that is absorbed instantly into the blood stream through a spray under the tongue and so is perfect for when you need to get rid of a sore quick, it’s called Herpeset.  It also does a good job of preventing all future outbreaks.  Click here to learn more about it.

Need some cold sores remedies to handle your recent outbreak?  If cold sores are getting you down, realize that you’re not alone, this issue affects 20% of us, many of whom are actually born with it.  Now if you want to work at clearing this up and quick, I’ve compiled a list of home remedies for you to try out.  Give them a shot and see which works best:

1.     Vinegar + Asprin + Hemorrhoid Cream

This is one of the better cold sores remedies as it not only helps heal the cold sore, but it gets rid of the pain as well.  What you need to do is crush up an asprin and mix that in with vinegar and the hemorrhoid cream to form a paste.  With that, apply it directly to the affected area, the end result should be a reduction in the size of the sore and faster healing of the lesion.

2.     Vaseline

Another home remedy to try out is finding some Vaseline or petroleum jelly to use on the cold sore.  What you want to do is keep the sore covered with this for as long as possible.  I’m not quite sure how it works, but this does make the blister less likely to crack and bleed and speeds up the healing process.

3.     Apple Cider Vinegar

This is another solution which will work to dry out your sores.  Just apply a dab of apple cider vinegar to your cold sore, it’s an old Amish cure.

Now if you’re looking for more powerful cold sores remedies that will really take your mind off your herpes, you’ll need to check out a different league of solutions.  One of the better solutions out there is Herpeset, it’s a spray that is immediately absorbed into the bloodstream when used under the tongue.  This also does a good job of keeping sores from popping up again.  Click here to learn more about it.
